Membership

ALU membership does require physical presence in Lewis County or some parts of Cowlitz and Thurston counties.  Membership in any other organization is not required, nor will it bar you from participating in ALU.  Any Folkish man or woman of good character is welcome to join us.

  1. What are the chances of being accepted to the community? I have construction skills to build anything you can want. I have tools and great ability. I learn quickly without questioning. Would love to live in a community with people working as one unit. I am a descendant of Germanic and Celtic forefathers.

    • Hi Kenneth,

Sorry you haven’t gotten a response before now! My recommendation to people interested in being part of our community is to come visit us first, attend one of our big gatherings, such as Midsummer in June or Freyfaxi in August. As stated in the “Who We Are” post, we’re not an intentional community in the typical sense, as in there’s no Asatruville commune out in the middle of the woods somewhere. We’re just a group of people who all happen to live in the same county and do a lot of things together; we have our own homes, our own family dynamics, etc. However, a person of your skills would certainly be a welcome asset to the community, feel free to email us if you have any more questions!

  2. I have been searching for something like this. I really have been feeling a call to that area for many years now. I have many skills : electronics tech, construction, heavy equipment operator(dirt movers etc), leatherwork, and more. I am a licensed integrative medicine practitioner which includes acupuncture, herbs, orthopedic medicine, functional medicine and nutrition.i was also 14 years us navy. I taught first aid in my unit as part of my duties. I have lived around horses and livestock and want to eventually have my own organic farm. My grandparents were from Germany and I was raised with the lore of our people I feel more comfortable when I am around my folk.

    • Hi Georgia,

Sorry you haven’t gotten a response before now! We would be very interested in meeting you, I was just thinking the other day, “we really need a doctor among the Folk!” Washington seems like it would be a great place for you, many people here appreciate and embrace traditional medicine, and Lewis and Thurston counties have the most horses per capita of the entire country, I believe.
